NEW Plainfield Charter Township History Book is now available:

"Plainfield Township," a new book by former township resident Ann Byle, is out in stores now. The book is published by Arcadia Publishing, which celebrates the history of townships, neighborhoods and cities across the country using archival photographs. "Plainfield Township" features about 170 photographs of early settlers, businesses, schools, homes, people, and places throughout the township. For more information, click here.

Plainfield Charter Township is currently in the process of a system-wide (Plainfield, Alpine, Algoma, and Grand Rapids Townships, and the City of Walker) Automated Meter Reading (AMR) upgrade. The Plainfield Charter Township Clerk’s office has been a passport acceptance agency since September 2001 and is certified with the US Department of State. Our passport office hours are 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Every effort is made to keep the office open during these hours, however, there are occasions when the office must be closed. It would be wise to call 364-8466 to confirm that the Passport Office is open on the day you wish to come.
