Get ready for a month of fun, creativity, and discovery this May at the Comstock Park and Plainfield Township Branches of the Kent District Library. With a variety of programs for all ages, there's something to spark everyone's imagination. Here's a peek at what's in store: 

Comstock Park Branch: 

  • Bluey™ Bonanza (Tuesday, May 7, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM): Fans of everyone's favorite blue heeler will love this celebration! Join in with crafts, imaginative games, and plenty of Bluey-themed fun. 
  • Coffee, Crafts & Conversations (Tuesday, May 14, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM): Bring your creativity and conversation! Enjoy a cup of coffee while chatting and crafting with friends. Need inspiration? Supplies and ideas are provided. 
  • Pressed Flower Prints (Tuesday, May 14, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM): Capture the beauty of spring with this dried flower craft. Create a unique pressed flower print on craft paper and take it home in a 5"x7" matte frame. (Space is limited) 
  • Tiny Gardens Succulent Workshop (Thursday, May 16, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM): Design your own miniature succulent garden. Get expert guidance and care tips while crafting your living masterpiece. (Space is limited) 

Plainfield Township Branch: 

  • Building with Little Bricks (Wednesday, May 1, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM): Let your imagination build! Construct and design as a family using the library's collection of building bricks. 
  • Friends of the Library Used Book Sale (Thursday, May 16 – Sunday, May 19): Treasure hunters rejoice! Discover amazing deals at the Friends of the Library's used book sale. 
  • Homeschool Hangout | Art Club (Wednesday, May 15, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM): This creative outlet for homeschool teens offers connection and exploration through varied art projects. 
  • Teen Zone D&D (Thursday, May 9, 6:00 PM – 7:45 PM): Embark on a thrilling Dungeons & Dragons quest! Adventurers of all experience levels are welcome. 
  • Versiti Blood Drive (Monday, May 20, 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM): You can help replenish the blood supply by scheduling an appointment to donate blood. Our Blood Drive Goal is 15 blood products. 
  • Green Burials (Tuesday, May 21, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM): Learn about eco-friendly burial options from presenter Peter Quakenbush. Peter is on a mission to start a West Michigan Burial Forest.
