The third Wednesday in August of each year is designated as “cemetery day” by state statute and is set aside as a day upon which people in the township may devote a portion of their time to the improvement of the cemeteries. The Township Board will direct the manner of making such improvements.
The thirtieth day of September in each year is also set apart and designated as a “Memory Day”. A Memory Day is to be used for the purpose of improving and beautifying the cemeteries and the graves located in the cemeteries so that the residents can show a loving and tender remembrance for the dead. The Cemetery Advisory Committee intends to recognize a Memory Day on Friday, September 30, 2011.
