The mission of the Plainfield Charter Township Clerk's Office is to have custody of and maintain all Township records,
including official documents such as minutes, contracts, resolutions, and ordinances; to maintain the voter registration
file and administer all elections; and be an active member of the Board of Trustees. The Clerk's office
also publishes all legal notices and serves as an information and referral center to the public. We will provide
these functions in a friendly, efficient and quality manner in service to the community, Township Board, and
Township employees.
Notary Service:
The Clerk's Office, Manager's Office and Planning Department provide
notary services to residents free of charge.
A Notary is actually witnessing you sign a document, and not verifying the accurateness of the document being signed. Please do NOT PRE-SIGN your documents before coming into a notary's office. If you need a "Certified True Copy" of a document, you need to go to the place of origin to obtain it. A notary cannot certify a true copy of a document. If you have any questions,

Freedom of Information Act Requests (FOIA):
The Freedom of Information Act is a Michigan Statue that gives the public the right to documents regarding the affairs of government, public officials and public employees. Under the Act, a person has the right to inspect, copy or receive copies of "public records" of a "public body".
To make a Freedom of Information request,
download the FOIA Request Form and fill in the information prior
