 Township Park Hours:


All Plainfield Charter Township Parks are open from 7:00 AM to sunset year round except Versluis Park.

Versluis Park (swimming beach ONLY) hours are 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. All other areas of Versluis Park are open from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. during the summer months starting the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. The rest of the year, typically, when public schools are in session, Versluis Park maintains the hours of 7:00 a.m. to sunset.

The Swimming Beach at Versluis Park is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

To ensure that our parks are kept clean and safe, please observe these
park rules.

 
 State and County Parks

Kent County maintains three parks within Plainfield Township.

State Parks
The White Pine Trail State Park is popular year-round destination.  Built on an abandoned rail bed that cuts through Plainfield Township, it is popular with hikers, bicyclists, and nature lovers.

The Parks & Recreation Department is a part-time office. Our purpose is to find and develop property for public use.

Plainfield Charter Township maintains community parks scattered throughout the township.  Some, like Versluis and the D. W. Richardson parks, are multi-use complexes, but most are designed for the enjoyment of local residents.  Our park system offers a wide range of recreational uses, including sport fields, swimming and fishing, playgrounds, picnics and family outings, or simply as a great place to enjoy a good book on a warm summer day.

A da Vinci Award winner
for its All-Inclusive design.

Sandy beach with swimming (seasonal), lifeguards, fishing pier, picnic area, playground equipment, paved walking path, restrooms, horseshoes and volleyball.

Park Entrance Fees: $8.00… per car

Season Passes:
$15.00…Plainfield Charter Township residents
$75.00... Non-Residents

The season pass can be purchased at the park. A Driver’s License is required to purchase a season pass and the sticker must be affixed to the vehicle’s windshield at time of purchase.

 

DW RICHARDSON PARK

3 baseball diamonds, shuffleboard court, basketball, playground and pavilion. The Park Pavilion and Community Center may be rented by calling Plainfield Charter Township at 364-8466.

To rent the Park Pavilion, download the Park Facility Use Application and return it to the Township Hall.

Versluis Park is Expanding the Playground!
Please note that Versluis Park will temporarily close on Monday, March 24th so we can install some new playground equipment and perform routine maintenance. The park and swim beach will re-open Sunday, May 25th for the season.
