Dial 9-1-1
Plainfield Charter Township provides for
public safety in our community through a contract with the
Kent County Sheriff's department, who furnishes police
patrols and the addition of ancillary services such as
detectives, community police and school liaison officers.
Community
sheriff patrols are becoming more active in our neighborhoods
and schools, bringing a proactive approach to safety and issues of
crime. The
Community Services Unit of the Kent County Sheriff's
Department is dedicated to offering citizens educational
services, long term problem solving, and safety presentations.
These include water, snowmobile, hunter and gun safety programs,
personal safety presentations, DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance
Education), neighborhood watch programs, child watch, and the
S.H.A.R.P. (Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention) class.
