The Plainfield Charter Township Water Department (PCTWD) distributes various service cards (blue, orange or white) to
township residents. These cards direct the resident to contact us for a maintenance or service appointment. A legend is provided below that describes the purpose of each card.
Please Note: Our employees drive clearly labeled township vehicles, wear uniforms and carry a township picture ID. If you receive a card notice, contact the Distribution Center at 616-363-9660 to schedule an appointment.

BLUE: Plainfield Charter Township is currently in the process of a water system-wide (Plainfield, Alpine, Algoma, Grand Rapids Townships, and the City of Walker) Automated Meter Reading (AMR) upgrade. Water Department employees have been tagging residences with a “blue card notice” requesting residents to schedule an appointment for the upgrade. Daily appointments can be set Monday-Friday along with evening hours on Tuesday and Thursday.

ORANGE: This card is distributed to residences where PCTWD is encountering difficulties reading the meter. Meter reading errors are equipment related. To perform the necessary repairs, an appointment is required allowing PCTWD access to the water meter located in the residence.

WHITE: PCTWD distributes two white card notices.
- The “Non-Payment Shut Off Card” applies to residents that are delinquent in paying their water bill.
- The “Shut Off for Non-Compliance Card” applies to residents who have not responded to contact requests for maintenance or repairs.

When advance notice permits, a “white card” is also used to inform residents of water service interruptions for water main maintenance or new construction.
